About Transformation Church of Jesus Christ

A Bible-based Apostolic church in Scranton, Pennsylvania, committed to worship, prayer, and spiritual transformation.

Our Church History

Transformation Church of Jesus Christ (of the Apostolic Faith) is a Bible believing church, committed to Holy Spirit-led living and ministry and to the apostolic doctrine.

Today we live in a world where humanity is deeply compromised. Humanity has always been compromised, that is why humanity needs a Savior, His name is Jesus the Christ. This compromise is described in the New Testament book of Romans chapter 1, verses 21 to 23. Here humanity is on a downward spiritual spiral, despite knowing God through creation, we willfully reject Him, which has led to ingratitude, darkened hearts, and idolatry (putting everything in front and place of God). This “dark exchange” replaces the glory of a loving God with created things, turning wisdom into foolishness which has separating humanity from God.

Our Mission & Vision

The mission of transformation Church of Jesus Christ is to love God, to love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ. The vision of our church is to glorify our Goc and Savior, Jesus Christ, to make true disciples throughout all the nations by means of missionary activity and support, to minister the ordinances, to edify believers, and to do all that is sovereignly possible to magnify the name of Jesus Christ.

What We Believe

God and Jesus

We believe that God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son are one (John 1:1-5, 14; Colossians 1:15).

Holy Spirit and God

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God (Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 3:16)

The Authority of Scripture

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and the final authority for Christian faith and practice.

Holy Living

We are called to live holy lives, separated from worldliness and sin, reflecting the character of Christ in our daily conduct.

The Baptism of the Holy Ghost

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a distinct experience from salvation, evidenced by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 19:1-6).

Salvation

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only source of salvation for mankind; He is the only way that mankind can reach or relate to God and without Him there is no savior at all. We believe that we are saved and justified through faith alone, and not by works (Acts 4:12, Ephesians 2:8-9).

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was born of the virgin birth, crucified, was buried and rose from the dead on the third day, and is alive forevermore (Matthew 1:23, 27:35, 28:10). We believe that Jesus Christ ascended into the heavens and is now seated on the right hand of the Father; that He continues to make intercession on behalf of the saints; that His blood alone removes sin (Luke 24:51, Hebrew 7:25). We believe in the bodily resurrection of those who died in Christ; that Jesus will return to take away the Church, both the living and resurrected saints, in the rapture (1 Corinthians 15:51-57).

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the word of God written by inspired men and that it is profitable for instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). We believe in water baptism by full immersion; the baptism is done in the name and authority of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:28, 8:35-38).

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4-11). We believe in the necessity of the Spirit-filled life for every believer, a life that manifests the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:16, 22-23). We believe in the spiritual transformation as a lifelong and continuous process in every believer (Romans 12:1-2)

Holy Communion

We believe in partaking of Holy Communion (Luke 22:19-20) We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the attendant manifestation of speaking in tongues (Acts 10:45-46).

Healing

We believe in divine healing (Isaiah 53:5, James 5:14-15).

The Gospel

We believe that those who reject the gospel of Jesus Christ will be judged by Him on the last day (Hebrews 9:27).

Marriage

We believe that marriage is only between an adult man and adult woman only. Whereas men may recognize other so called unions, marriage between a man and a woman is the only relationship that is ordained and blessed by God (Genesis 2:21-24, Matthew 19:4-6, Mark 10:6-9, Ephesians 5:25-32)
