Our Church History

For over 15 years, Transformation Church of Jesus Christ (of the Apostolic Faith) has been a spiritual home for families and individuals in Scranton, Pennsylvania and the surrounding communities. Established with a vision to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and help people experience genuine transformation, our church has remained steadfast in its commitment to apostolic doctrine and Spirit-led ministry.

Located at 895 Providence Road in Scranton, PA, we serve the Lackawanna County community with a heart for souls and a passion for truth. What began as a small congregation has grown into a thriving church family united by faith, hope, and love.

Our Foundation

We are rooted in the apostolic teachings of the early church as recorded in the book of Acts, maintaining the same message, the same Spirit, and the same power that transformed lives over 2,000 years ago.

Mission & Vision

Our Mission & Vision

Our Mission

To help individuals and families grow in faith, find hope, and experience life transformation through Jesus Christ. We are committed to preaching the full gospel, making disciples, and equipping believers to walk in the fullness of God’s purpose for their lives.

Our Vision

To be a light in Scranton and beyond a place where:

  • The lost find salvation
  • The broken find healing
  • The weary find rest
  • Believers find spiritual growth
  • Families find community and support

We envision a church that doesn’t just meet on Sundays, but lives out the love of Christ every day through prayer, worship, service, and genuine fellowship.

What We Believe

Our Apostolic Beliefs

The Oneness of God

We believe in one God who manifests Himself in different ways as Father in creation, as Son in redemption, and as Holy Spirit in regeneration. Jesus Christ is the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9).

Salvation Through Jesus Christ

We believe that salvation comes through repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, as outlined in Acts 2:38.

Water Baptism

We practice baptism by full immersion in water in the name of Jesus Christ (not using titles) for the remission of sins, following the pattern established in the book of Acts.

The Baptism of the Holy Ghost

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a distinct experience from salvation, evidenced by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 19:1-6).

The Authority of Scripture

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and the final authority for Christian faith and practice.

Holy Living

We are called to live holy lives, separated from worldliness and sin, reflecting the character of Christ in our daily conduct.
